The difference in particle size between 100kg and 500kg production is mainly reflected in four dimensions: process control precision, particle uniformity, physical stability, and quality consistency. Essentially, it reflects the scale effect during the transition from small-batch experimental scale to pilot-scale industrialization.

 

Key Mechanism Analysis:

**Imbalance in Mixing:** In 500kg-scale production, powder stratification occurs due to differences in specific gravity and particle size. Even with extended mixing time, achieving the homogeneity of 100kg-scale production is difficult.

**Heterogeneity in Drying:** During large-scale drying, reduced hot air penetration and delayed moisture migration within particles lead to a "hard shell effect," affecting subsequent tableting or coating performance.

**Shear Force Distribution:** Under a 500kg load, high-shear granulators exhibit a widening difference in shear rates between the edge and center regions, resulting in inconsistent particle morphology (decreased sphericity).

**Equipment Inertia Effect:** 100kg-scale equipment offers rapid response and immediate parameter adjustments; however, 500kg-scale equipment, due to high material inertia, experiences significant delays in temperature control and feeding, easily leading to batch-to-batch variations.
