Daily maintenance of the hammer mill

I. Pre-start Inspection

Check if the blades/hammers are loose or have wear marks. Tighten any loose screws promptly; replace or grind severely worn screws.

Check the feed inlet and outlet for blockages to ensure smooth material conveying.

Check the lubrication level of the motor, bearings, and other components. Add the appropriate type of lubricating oil if the level is low.

Test the emergency stop button and overload protection device to ensure proper triggering and safe operation.

II. In-operation Maintenance

Avoid feeding too much material at once, especially large, hard materials, to prevent overloading and jamming.

It is strictly forbidden for hard objects such as metal or stones to mix into the material. If found, stop the machine immediately and remove them to avoid damaging the blades and machine body.

If abnormal noise or vibration occurs during operation, stop the machine immediately for inspection and troubleshooting before restarting.

Continuous operation time should not be too long. It is recommended to stop the machine for 15-30 minutes every 2-3 hours to allow the motor and bearings to cool down.

III. Post-Stop Maintenance
After each use, promptly clean the feed inlet, discharge outlet, and machine cavity to remove any remaining material debris and prevent spoilage and clumping.

Regularly (1-2 times per week), wipe the equipment surface with a clean cloth to remove accumulated dust and keep the equipment clean.

For long-term shutdowns, apply rust-preventive oil to metal parts such as blades and bearings, and cover the equipment with a dust cover.

Monthly check the tension of drive belts, chains, and other components. Adjust if too loose, and replace immediately if cracks or wear are found.
